A poem by Chantelle from Basking Babies Huntingdon.

Between the not knowing what to wear anymore – ME
The ‘how do I do my make-up and hair now?’ – ME
The ‘do I really have to change, or can I come back to who I was before?’ – ME
The mum – ME

With a splash of the glamorous before I had my babies – ME
The always asking, ‘can I find myself again and combine the two?’ – ME
The who I am now and the who I once was – ME
The one who screams ‘I’m a mum and my babies will always come first’ -ME

The person I was before birth and can be once again – ME
The ‘will I find my way again and no longer feel lost?’ – ME
The ever so tough yet often crumbling silently inside – ME
The never felt so strong and so beautiful yet not quite picture-perfect – ME

The who I’ve now become, not just a mum – ME
But ME alongside being their mummy
