This spring, we’ll be launching our award-winning pregnancy relaxation, baby massage, baby reflexology, and baby yoga classes in London! We caught up with Tella, the face behind those classes for a Q+A session.
Hi Tel, we’re thrilled to have you on board. Can you introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Tel and I am a new franchise owner of Basking Babies. My classes will be covering Dulwich, Forest Hill and Sydenham in London.
I have two wonderful daughters – a baby and a teenager – and have totally fallen in love with baby massage.
I am bubbly, outgoing and friendly, and I’m really excited to be able to offer these classes to local parents and carers.
What led you to buying your own franchise with Basking Babies?
When my first daughter was born, baby massage just didn’t exist in my area, and so I never took part in or had any knowledge of its benefits. I became aware of baby massage with my new baby after extensively searching for things to try with her. I went to my first baby massage class and was hooked, hence why I’ve decided to run my own classes.
The magic that is created in class and the bond with your baby is truly wonderful. I just couldn’t stop recommending it to people. So, I decided to join Basking Babies, who I can honestly say have a passion for this more than anyone or any group I’ve ever come across.
The ethos at Basking Babies and the owner, Carla, are incredible and I knew I had to join from our very first chat. I can’t believe Basking Babies hasn’t been in London before and I am SO excited to be the first to bring these classes to the area. Soon you will be able to experience first-hand the joys and benefits of these courses in London postcodes.
How have you found the process so far?
My decision was made to join Basking Babies and have not looked back for a single second. I asked a million (and still do!) questions and have been inundated with support, guidance, friendliness and encouragement.
I have been truly supported every step of my journey so far and I cannot wait to work with such amazing women who form Basking Babies. The owner and team are what makes this such a success and to be joining them and delivering my own classes in London is something I am very grateful for! Not to mention SUPER excited.
What do you love about the business?
Where do I start?! I attended a baby massage class myself and fell in love. I couldn’t believe this wasn’t readily available to everyone here in London.
Personally, I was keen to find a professional setup for baby massage and baby yoga locally that I could trust. In addition to that, Basking Babies allows pregnant women to build a social network and not feel isolated, dads can enjoy their own classes and meet other fathers in an enjoyable space. And all of that is while learning a skill that is lifelong, and provides ongoing benefits for both parent and baby.
I was gutted that Basking Babies didn’t operate in London as it was exactly what I wanted to be a part of. After conversations with Carla, I am proud to say Basking Babies is now in London. I can’t wait to provide such an experience to the local community.
What are you most excited about over the coming weeks?
Last weekend, I attended my first ever Baby Show at the Excel Exhibition Centre which was amazing!
I am all go go go with advertising my own classes, exploring venues and other elements to ensure I have the right set up. I am super excited to meet everyone on the team at Basking Babies personally. Plus I cannot wait to get started teaching my classes.
Whereabouts will you be holding classes?
I will be running in Dulwich Village (SE21), Forest Hill (SE23) and Sydenham (SE26). I will be looking to bring classes to Crystal Palace, Bromley, Southwark and other places in due course.
