If you’re staying in this Christmas and looking for a simple and delicious drink to rustle up on the big day, try this winter take on an Aperol Spritz to bring the festive cheer!
Cranberry Aperol spritz
Ingredients
50ml cranberry juice
50ml Aperol
100ml sparkling wine
25ml soda water
Method
- Fill a tall wine glass or gin copa with ice
- Pour in the cranberry juice and Aperol, followed by the sparkling wine and soda water
- Garnish with a slice of orange and a sprig of rosemary, or use a festive ice cube (see below)
- Enjoy!
For a non-alcoholic version, there are a few good Aperol substitutes on the market such as San Bitter from San Pellegrino. And you can either replace the sparkling wine with a non-alcoholic version such as Nozeco (which is available from most supermarkets) or leave it out completely and use some extra soda water.
To make your own festive ice cubes, put some cranberries and orange slices into a large ice cube tray, fill with cranberry juice and pop in the freezer for a few hours or overnight.
Merry Christmas!
