Your best friend has just welcomed a baby into the world, and you need some Christmas gift inspiration. You’ve come to the right place!

Earlier this year, my son, Ethan, was born and I was overwhelmed with generous gifts, cards and flowers in the days that followed. While being incredibly grateful, I do have to admit that in between cluster-feeding and nappy changes, we struggled to keep the latter looking as beautiful as they were on the day they were delivered!

It got me thinking, what are the most useful gift ideas for new parents? Be it for Christmas or as a congratulations once their little one has been born. Here are my top picks!

Letterbox brownies

These were by far one of the most popular gifts in my house! Not only does my husband have a super sweet tooth, but when you’re both tired and in need of a pick me up, chocolate brownies fit the bill. I can highly recommend these guys for a delicious range of flavours!

Dont Buy Her Flowers

The clue is in the heading of this section. That’s not me being ungrateful for flowers, that’s the name of the company who will put together the most thoughtful gift boxes of goodies. With everything from beauty gifts, to wine, cosy socks and books, you can personalise each box to suit the recipient.

Little Starts Gift Card

When you become a parent, it quickly becomes clear the sheer amount of ‘stuff’ you’re going to accumulate. This mostly takes the form of toys!

Little Starts gives you the option of gifting an amount to be put towards lots of different baby, toddler and pre-school classes. With everything from baby massage classes to dance lessons, you can gift an experience that new parents can get so much out of!

Basking Babies gift card

Baby massage is the perfect first class for new parents and their babies. And our gift vouchers can be redeemed on any of our classes or branded gifts.

If you’re on a particular budget then these are ideal as you decide how much you wish to spend. This could be anything from £10 to £200! We’ll then deliver it straight to your email inbox, ready to be forwarded on to your friend or you can print it and pop it in their card.

Food!

Up there with the brownie delivery would be a delicious home-cooked meal. Think something that can be popped in the oven for an easy dinner while baby snoozes on the nearest shoulder!

If cooking isn’t your jam, there are plenty of food delivery services, providing everything from ready-made meals to ingredients to cook your own. Both would make excellent gifts for new parents with limited time (and energy) on their hands.
