Basking Babies courses are designed to be accessible to all. We often welcome both parents along to class, but did you know that we also offer a special baby massage class for dads? Find out more below about what our Super Dads baby massage course is all about.
What is the Super Dads course?
This one-off baby massage session is specifically designed for dads to enjoy and bond with their babies. It is a great introduction to baby massage, providing an abbreviated and effective routine for dad to use with baby.
Mums are welcome to come along too to enjoy relaxing with refreshments in the next room.
Many of our franchisees also run baby yoga sessions just for dads! So, make sure you let your local instructor know if this is something you’d like to see in your area.
What are the benefits for dad and baby?
Baby massage has many incredible benefits for baby, from helping to soothe and settle, to alleviating tummy discomforts for your little one.
But did you know that there are benefits for dad when he gets involved too? According to Tiffany Field (Director of the Touch Research Institute and a Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics, Psychology, and Psychiatry at the University of Miami School of Medicine), “As they learn to soothe their babies, fathers notice their own stress levels are lessened. Together, they experience the calming power of touch, and begin to build life-long attachments.”
Becoming a new parent brings up a lot of new feelings and dads might sometimes feel a little left out if mum and baby form an early bond. Our course – specifically for dads – enables them to learn a fun, beneficial and manageable routine to enjoy with baby. That 1-1 bonding time is priceless!
What’s included in the price of the course?
Included in the price of the session, you will receive a bottle of our Basking Babies organic baby massage oil, professional handouts and refreshments. There is nothing specific that you need to bring to the class, other than a towel for your baby to lie on. Or you can purchase one of our Basking Babies towels from your instructor.
