When I became an Infant Sleep Consultant five years ago, I had one clear mission: to support mums through one of the most vulnerable and overwhelming stages of motherhood.
After experiencing the effects of severe sleep deprivation with my daughter, I know first-hand just how deeply a lack of sleep can affect your mental health, your confidence, and even the simplest parts of everyday life. Reaching out for help felt like such a huge step, but it completely changed our lives. Not only did Jess begin sleeping better, but I finally started to feel like myself again.
That experience inspired me to help other families going through the same challenges. I know how lonely and exhausting those early days can feel, and I wanted to be the person supporting parents on the other end of the phone. It may sound a little cliché, but it truly felt like I'd found my calling.
I began my journey as a franchised Sleep Consultant across Essex, where I first got to know so many of the wonderful Basking Babies team. They welcomed me into their classes and communities with such warmth and kindness, and that's one of the reasons Basking Babies holds such a special place in my heart. I've been lucky enough to join many classes as a guest speaker, but I've also experienced the magic of Basking Babies as a parent, attending baby massage and baby yoga with both of my children. Those precious memories are among the ones I treasure most from the early days of motherhood.
Today, I support families across the UK with both sleep and potty training, offering personalised, responsive support that's tailored to every child, every family, and every parenting style.
As a proud member of FEDANT, I am committed to providing responsive, evidence-based support that always puts your child's wellbeing first.
Whether it's through my free Sleepy Mummas Support Group, Potty Mummas Support Group, working alongside local nurseries, supporting my local Health Visiting Team, or providing one-to-one consultations, my goal is always the same: to help families feel supported, empowered, and confident.
Sleep and potty training often go hand in hand, and it's such a privilege to continue supporting many of the families I first met during the newborn stage as they navigate the toddler years and beyond.
The Gift of Sleep is also built on a very important promise. I donate 5% of every package sale to Great Ormond Street Hospital to help give seriously ill children the best possible chance of childhood.
This pledge is deeply personal, following my daughter Jess's cancer journey in 2023. Since returning to work after her treatment and recovery in September 2024, together with the families I've supported, we've raised £648.12 for Great Ormond Street Hospital. It's something I'm incredibly proud of and a constant reminder that, while I have the privilege of supporting parents through challenging times, I'm also able to give back to the hospital that saved my daughter's life.
