It feels like spring might finally be making an appearance. The weather is starting to warm up, days are getting lighter and there are daffodils everywhere! This month we’re celebrating community, seasonal shifts, and gentle ways to support you and your baby.
Spring forward with confidence
Every year, the clocks go forward on the last Sunday in March. While many of us mourn the loss of an hour of our weekend, babies can also feel the disruption to their routine. If your little one seems thrown off, don’t worry, a gradual bedtime adjustment can really help ease the transition. Moving bedtime in 10-15 minute increments over a few days can make nights calmer and keep nap times on track. Meeting mums
One of the things parents tell us again and again is how much support and reassurance comes from simply being around others on a similar journey. Whether it’s a chat after bumping into someone at a baby massage class or planning a coffee morning with friends, those shared experiences build connection and confidence. Why not reach out to another parent you’ve met at a class and see if you can enjoy a walk together, fresh spring air can be a game-changer on a tough day.

Seasonal play and exploration
As we move into spring, simple sensory experiences become lovely ways to engage your baby’s senses. Soft petals or leaves collected on a walk, water play outdoors on warmer days, and exploring sunshine and shade through early morning strolls are all wonderful ways to enrich your little one’s world. These moments don’t need to be elaborate, just being outside while babies take in new shapes, colours, and textures is incredibly stimulating in those early weeks, months and years.
Community events
As the rain (hopefully) starts to subside, and venturing out seems more appealing, now is the perfect time to connect with other parents and enjoy some shared baby-friendly experiences. At Basking Babies, our coffee mornings are a relaxed way to meet up with other local parents, share stories, and swap tips while your little one plays. These sessions offer gentle, stimulating activities for babies while parents have space to connect and support one another. Find out what's happening near you here.

A friendly little reminder this spring
Some days might feel slow, others become milestones you never expected. Be kind to yourself, cherish the small moments, and lean on your community when you need it.
We’re here with you, every step (or toddle) of the way.
