Stuck for ideas on how to keep the kids busy this Easter? Worry not, we spoke to Jordana from Creative Kids for her favourite seasonal craft ideas.

Get creative outside

With warmer sunny days ahead, it’s always a great idea to take your kids and creative activities outdoors! It will keep everyone sane and getting in touch with nature is so refreshing.

  • Use leaves, flowers and twigs to make a pretty picture.
  • Plant some seedlings – bonus if you also decorate a plant pot.
  • Take sidewalk chalk to your local park or back garden and make some beautiful drawings.
  • Paint rocks, sticks or other natural objects and use them to adorn your home or garden. Perhaps you can even place your rocks in a local woodland or park for others to find as a lovely surprise.
  • Make nature ice – collect bit of nature, add to a container with water and freeze. Use droppers and warm water to melt the ice away slowly and reveal your surprise!

Get creative with food

If your kids are anything like mine, they are always hungry! Why not get creative with food and use your plate as the canvas?

Get your children involved and see what you can create using veggies, fruits and other snacks. It doesn’t have to be elaborate – creating together is fun and you get to eat it afterwards. Win win!

Get creative with your recycling

Creating art can be very budget-friendly, especially when you use the things around you. Empty yoghurt pots become plant pots, old shoe boxes become animal habitats, newspaper is a canvas, cardboard becomes… anything you want it to be! Have a look through your recycling & see what you can come up with!

  • Painting on old newspaper
  • Egg box planter and cupcake case flowers
  • Cardboard tube bowling set
  • Cardboard box robot
