At Basking Babies, we’re celebrating a season of success, marked by award wins, exciting nominations, community fundraising and a growing team. We’ve seen momentum building across our network, with achievements that highlight not only our commitment to families but also the passion and dedication of our franchisees and support team.

Franchisor of the Year

Most recently, our founder, Carla Davison, was recognised as Franchisor of the Year at the Disruptive Franchise Awards 2025. This award celebrates the movers and shakers of the franchise world, and shines a light on Carla’s mission to create a warm, empowering network that truly puts families first.

“I’m honoured to be named Franchisor of the Year. This award recognises the work we’ve done to innovate, support our franchisees, and create a network that genuinely puts families first. It’s a reflection of the dedication, creativity and passion of everyone at Basking Babies - from our franchisees to our head office team - and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved together,” said Carla.

We’ve also earned multiple nominations at the What’s On 4 Kids National Children’s Activities Awards 2025. Our network is up for Most Loved Sport or Physical Activity, as well as Most Loved Baby Activity, recognising our franchise’s dedication to delivering engaging, high-quality experiences for families and little ones across the country.

Local innovators

And it’s not just our network winning awards, Basking Babies franchisees are making waves locally too. Holly Pickard, our Basking Babies Northallerton, Ripon & Thirsk franchisee, recently joined forces with her local Water Babies franchise at the Yorkshire Baby Show in Harrogate.

“The Yorkshire Baby Show was such a fantastic event. There was so much energy in the room with local and national exhibitors, expert talks, interactive classes and plenty of family fun! It was brilliant to be part of it alongside Water Babies, meeting so many parents and little ones, and sharing what Basking Babies is all about,” said Holly.

Lisa Selman, our franchisee for Clarkston, Giffnock and Newton Mearns, has also gone the extra mile (literally!) by walking 100k in September to raise funds for SANDS, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Her incredible effort not only raises vital awareness and funds but also supports a cause that is close to the heart of our network.

An expanding team

Our head office team is also growing, with Laura Burchett joining as our new Nurture & Wellbeing Manager. Laura brings a wealth of experience in early years and family wellbeing, and her role will focus on supporting franchisees across the network. Her appointment reinforces our commitment to nurturing both our community and our people, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality, supportive experiences at every level.

"I’m so pleased to be coming back to the Basking Babies family. As a social worker of nearly 15 years, I’ve seen firsthand how important emotional resilience and support networks are for parents, and I’m excited to bring those skills into this new role. From the moment I found Basking Babies - as a new parent myself and a new business owner - I’ve felt the warmth, care and connection that Basking Babies is all about, and I can’t wait to help nurture that same resilience and wellbeing within this wonderful community,” explained Laura.
